5 Nut Free Peppermint ChristmasTreats You Can Buy at the Store

collage with 4 nut free peppermint Christmas treats

Tomorrow is December 1st! That means it is officially holiday season. And in my book, holiday season is synonymous with peppermint. (Although to be fair I am peppermint obsessed and enjoy peppermint all year long. I just get super excited when the rest of the world shares my enthusiasm). So today I am sharing some of my favorite nut free peppermint Christmas treats. And you can buy the all at the store.

I know, that;s a mouthful. There are so many important key words to get in there. If you’ve been a grocery sore any time in the last two months (because Christmas sure coms early these days), you’ve probably seen lots of holiday treats lining the shelves. But, if you or someone you love has nut allergies, you are pretty limited in how many of those treats you can actually buy.

Lots of baked goods either contain nuts or, in the case of peppermint, are cross contaminated. Just last week we were at Disney Springs and my son tried to order a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate. But the peppermint syrup, of all things, wasn’t safe!?!

Luckily, there are lots of nut free peppermint Christmas treats you can buy off the shelf (or the Internet, as the case may be). So, if you like peppermint, read on. Because I am about to make your holiday season a whole lot easier. And a heck of a lot tastier.

Häagen-Dazs Peppermint Bark Ice-Cream

Nut Free Store Bought Peppermint Christmas Treats - Peppermint bark ice-cream container with candy canes

My son described as this as perfectly pepperminty. This is a peppermint ice-cream with small pieces of chocolate and candy cane. It’s definitely more minty than sweet. We love to serve it with some hot fudge and whipped cream. In fact, my grocery store has a peppermint whipped cream which really takes this ice-cream to the next level.

It would be super fun to host a make-your own sundae bar with this peppermint bark ice cream. Set out some hot fudge, marshmallow topping, chocolate chips, sprinkles, candy canes, and whipped cream. And don’t forget the cherries.

This would be so much fun on Christmas Eve.

Safe + Fair Chocolate Candy Cane Granola

Nut Free Peppermint ChristmasTreats - candy cane granola

These next two nut free peppermint treats come from one of my favorite companies–Safe + Fair. This company makes delicious plant-based foods with clean ingredients. And they are devoted to food safety. They use some of the strictest food allergy testing in the world to ensure their products are free of the top 9 allergens (including peanuts and tree nuts). It’s so reassuring to know that everything the company makes is safe.

We love all their granolas, many of which you can find in your local Target or Walmart (although I’ve never seen the holiday flavors there). But this candy cane granola is y very best favorite. I may or may not stock up in December so I can enjoy it all year long.

This is a crunchy chocolate granola with peppermint chunks. I like to sprinkle it on some vanilla yogurt for a sweet, healthy snack. It’s delicious!

Safe + Fair Chocolate Candy Cane Popcorn

Safe + Fair Chocolate Candy Cane Popcorn is a great nut free peppermint Christmas treat

If you love sweet and salty together, you will love this chocolaty candy cane popcorn. This is a lightly-sweetened snack. Kettle popped popcorn is drizzle with dark chocolate and peppermint. The peppermint flavor is more more subtle. And there’s no big clumps of chocolate.

This popcorn is the perfect nut free peppermint Christmas treat to enjoy with a Hallmark movie marathon. Or package it in snack size bags and pack it in lunches for a festive treat.

Like the granola, you might need to order these special holiday flavors online.

Pillsbury Candy Cane Cookie Dough

Pillsbury candy cane cookie dough helps you bake a bunch of nut free peppermint Christmas treats

This might be the product I am most excited about . . . pre-made cookie dough! Yes please!

I do a lot of baking at the holidays and all year long. But sometimes you just need a whip up a nut free peppermint Christmas treat real quick. And that’s where this cookie dough comes in handy.

This Pillsbury candy cane cookie dough comes in a tube, so there are tons of ways you can use it. Just close and bake or drop spoonfuls onto a parchment lined cooking sheet. (I like to pop cookie sheets bake in the refrigerator after I shape them to help them hold their shape in their oven). But you can also use this dough to make thumbprints, candy cane cookies, chocolate sandwich cookies, or chocolate peppermint cookies cups (recipe coming soon–tell me which one you want me to bake up first).

Vermont Nut Free Chocolates Peppermint Bark

Peppermint Bark from Vermont Nut Free Chocolates is one of my favorite but free peppermint Christmas treats.

And last, but certainly not least is my very favorite nut free peppermint Christmas treat: peppermint bark from Vermont Nut Free Chocolates.

I’m not sure there is any better flavor combination that dark chocolate and peppermint. (Unless it’s white chocolate and peppermint). And this peppermint bark absolutely nails it. This is hands down the best peppermint bark I have ever had.

A nice layer of dark chocolate, topped with peppermint white chocolate, and crushed candy canes. It just screams Christmas.

I always buy an extra tin.

And although this is a post about peppermint, and the peppermint bark is A-MA-ZING, I do want to give a major shout out to Vermont Nut Free Chocolates. This family-owned business is committed to providing quality chocolates and treats that are safe for those with tree nut and peanut allergies. And they’re chocolates are fantastic! (That’s coming from a chocolate snob). You’ve got to try their truffles. And they have the cutest holiday lollipops.

Check them out, you won’t be disappointed.

Okay, well, I hope that helps you tackle some of your holiday to-do list without breaking a sweat. With so many delicious nut free peppermint Christmas treats available his year, you don’t have to make everything scratch!

PS: My best ever brownies are NOT store bought, but they would be delicious with a sprinkling of peppermint. Or bake the recipe as is and turn them into a brownie peppermint sundae.
